International students who do not currently have a dormitory place for the 2026/2027 academic year can apply to the dormitory waiting list.
Registration on the waiting list does not guarantee dormitory accommodation. Students can only be admitted if a suitable dormitory place becomes available.
The online waiting list application form becomes available.
The first evaluation of waiting list applications takes place.
Waiting list applications are evaluated once a week.
Applicants are informed by e-mail about the result of the weekly evaluation.
Priority is given to first-year Stipendium Hungaricum scholarship students until mid-September.
Students can submit a waiting list application after the opening date while the waiting list is active.
The waiting list is available to international students who have an active student status at the University of Debrecen and who did not receive a dormitory place during the regular dormitory admission procedure for the 2026/2027 academic year.
Complete the waiting list application form with correct and truthful information.
Applications are ranked primarily according to the points achieved in the dormitory admission procedure.
After the points are considered, the order of waiting list registration may be taken into account.
Available dormitory places are allocated once a week, every Thursday.
All applicants who are still on the waiting list receive an e-mail on Friday.
You remain in the weekly procedure until you are admitted or you cancel your waiting list application.
You may select up to 3 dormitories where you are genuinely willing to live.
The selected dormitories cannot be ranked in order of preference. Selecting a dormitory means that you are willing to accept a place there if one becomes available.
The waiting list application form is available from 21 August 2026 at 10:00 AM CEST.
Applications may be submitted continuously while the waiting list is active.
Please make sure that all information provided in the form is correct.
Please provide only correct and truthful information in the waiting list application form. Providing false or incorrect information may result in exclusion from the waiting list.
Information about the weekly result is sent by e-mail. Please make sure that you regularly check the e-mail address provided in your application.
Waiting list applications are evaluated every Thursday. Information about the result is sent by e-mail every Friday.
All students whose application remains active receive information about whether they were admitted during that week's evaluation.
If you are not admitted that week, your application remains on the waiting list and will automatically be considered during the following weekly evaluations unless you cancel your application.
If you receive a dormitory place from the waiting list, you will receive an e-mail containing the official admission information and the required Residence Contract / Accommodation Conditions document.
The admission e-mail will specify the exact deadline by which you must:
Students admitted to a dormitory must pay a 9,000 HUF cultural contribution through the Neptun system.
Students must also pay a 9,000 HUF maintenance/damage contribution through the Neptun system.
If you no longer need dormitory accommodation, please cancel your waiting list application.
Once your application has been cancelled, you will no longer participate in the weekly waiting list evaluation procedure and you will no longer receive weekly waiting list notifications.
