Student groups

  • First-year students
  • Upper-year students

  • you missed the original dormitory application period, or

Important eligibility rule

Students who were admitted to a dormitory during the regular dormitory admission procedure for the 2026/2027 academic year are not eligible to apply to the waiting list.

This rule also applies to students who were admitted to a dormitory but later cancelled, rejected or gave up their allocated dormitory place.

Applications submitted by these students will be automatically rejected.

How Does the Waiting List Work?

1

Submit your application

Complete the waiting list application form with correct and truthful information.

2

Applications are ranked

Applications are ranked primarily according to the points achieved in the dormitory admission procedure.

3

Application order

After the points are considered, the order of waiting list registration may be taken into account.

4

Weekly evaluation

Available dormitory places are allocated once a week, every Thursday.

5

Friday notification

All applicants who are still on the waiting list receive an e-mail on Friday.

6

Remain on the waiting list

You remain in the weekly procedure until you are admitted or you cancel your waiting list application.

Until mid-September, first-year Stipendium Hungaricum scholarship students are given priority during the allocation of available dormitory places.

Dormitory Selection

You may select up to 3 dormitories where you are genuinely willing to live.

The selected dormitories cannot be ranked in order of preference. Selecting a dormitory means that you are willing to accept a place there if one becomes available.

Please select only dormitories that you are actually willing to move into.

If you are offered a place in one of the dormitories you selected and you reject the offered place, or you do not complete the admission procedure by the deadline indicated in the e-mail, you will lose your eligibility for dormitory accommodation for the remainder of the 2026/2027 academic year.
Nyíregyháza Dormitory: only students whose place of study is the Nyíregyháza Campus may select Nyíregyháza Dormitory.

Important Information

Applying to the waiting list does not guarantee a dormitory place.

Students can only be admitted if a suitable dormitory place becomes available. We strongly recommend that you continue looking for alternative accommodation until you receive an official dormitory admission notification.

Provide correct information

Please provide only correct and truthful information in the waiting list application form. Providing false or incorrect information may result in exclusion from the waiting list.

Check your e-mail regularly

Information about the weekly result is sent by e-mail. Please make sure that you regularly check the e-mail address provided in your application.

Weekly Notification

Waiting list applications are evaluated every Thursday. Information about the result is sent by e-mail every Friday.

All students whose application remains active receive information about whether they were admitted during that week's evaluation.

If you are not admitted that week, your application remains on the waiting list and will automatically be considered during the following weekly evaluations unless you cancel your application.

If You Are Admitted

If you receive a dormitory place from the waiting list, you will receive an e-mail containing the official admission information and the required Residence Contract / Accommodation Conditions document.

The admission e-mail will specify the exact deadline by which you must:

  • confirm that you accept the offered dormitory place,
  • print and sign the required document, and
  • return the signed document according to the instructions in the e-mail.
If you fail to respond or return the required signed document by the deadline indicated in the e-mail, you will lose the offered dormitory place and will not be eligible for another dormitory place during the 2026/2027 academic year.
